Question about 1996 Toyota Corolla
I just bought a used toyota corolla 96'. Everything works great,it has 83K on its odometer. When I drove it at night for the first time, I noticed that the gear shifter is not illuminated, so I cannot see the different positions without turning the cabin light on. Does this model come like that? Is there a switch I did not see or a burnt up light bulb?
There is a bulb under the shifter. It is probably burned out.
You need to purchase a number 194 bulb at an auto parts store. Next, you need to remove the entire center console to gain access to the socket that holds the bulb. This is fairly easy. After the console is removed, look under the shifter assembly to locate the socket.
A FixYa rating (4 blue diamonds) would be greatly appreciated for my assistance.
Please respond if you have any further questions.
