Question about 1997 Volkswagen Jetta

1 Answer

No power I have a 1999 volkswagon TDI (older style) and the problem is that it seems to only be able to reach 120 kph and won't go any faster, a couple of weeks previous to noticing this problem, I blew a turbo oil line and had it replaced, any suggestions?

Loss of power noisy engine turbo does not come in on a 19 tdi volkswagon sharan

Well,

The turbo bearing is gone. The turbo is not able to create enough boost. A local mechanic is going to have to change out the turbo. This is an expensive repair.

Good luck

1999 volkswagon Jetta TDI no power

[yes ]is the simple answer, a turbo starved of engine oil pressure even for a short period of time can blow the turbo; fit a new or a good second hand turbo.[hint]when testing a second turbo put your finger inside the turbo and spin it .a good turbo should spin quite easly for 3/4seconds with no noise.hope this helped you.adrian

Yeah this could definitely be the fuel filter, change it yourself and save the cash, it's pretty easy, although you may spill some fuel.
