Hi everyone. I have a problem on toyota matrix, the car filled with diesel oil by mistake, run 2.5 miles and shut down, I took the car to Midas near by, they empty and clean the gas tank, and blow the engine, try to get as much as diesel oil out from the car. Everything works fine after they clean it, expect there're smokes coming out from the back. and the sending unit doesn't work. two days later, the check engine light is on. what is the problem on the car?
Is it a check engine light or Maintenance Required light? If its the maintenance required light, turn the car off, push and hold the trip odometer button while turning the ignition back on. Don't start the car. You'll see five dashes that will count down to none. That'll reset the maintenance required light. Do it after every oil change and it'll come on when its time for an oil change.

Re: Toyota Matrix Check engine light is on
I would assume you need to replace spark plugs and fuel injectors (or try to use injector cleaner liquid). Also check/replace catalytic converter. Check engime lights codes you can read for free in nearest Autozone store. I would assume it either fuel evaporation problem or O2 sensor.
