I hope you didn't just change out 1 sensor, the car has a minimum of 2 O2 sensors, and if you have a dual exhaust system, then it will have 4 O2 sensors.

Get a code scanner and find out which bank has the bad sensor. Replace the O2 sensor and you should be good

Check engine light continues to come on. Scanned and got Bad Bank 1 Code. Changed All four O2 Sensors. What else could it be?

Right check the O2 sensors for working by checking the wires with a multu meter ,although it can be checked with a code reader if set to read the PIDS ,this means that with engine running you read the readings on the code reader should be about 4.7v going up and down with RPM ,failing which on the O2 sensor their are twoi wires the same colour normally white or grey ,now check across these wires for a 12v supply with ignition on ,then get back to me as i dont iof this vehicle has 4 or 3 wires

Had the o2 sensor changed still having problems!

Yes a vacumn leak will cause the cutting out but as for the warning check light coming on then no idea without a play .What i would do here is to check the voltages and resistances with a multimeter to check for a 12v supply to the O2 sensor and then the reading out with engine running ,four wires on sensor and not a three wire one .Ignore the auto parts man as hes not a proper mechanic just trying to sell you bits you may not need but ask a qualified mechanic to have a look as you could have a problem with the main computer and it needs remapping as this is a problem i get with a lot of opels where the computer is bolted to the engines manifold.Yes i could explain how to test all the sensors with a multimeter but with a vacumn leak for starters then this will throw all the sensors readings out so sort the vacumn leak out first and if no improvement then answer this post and state make and model and i will think again and maybe tell you how to check the sensors with the multimeter but keep away from self opinionated stores people as most of these are failed mechanics and clean fingernail brigade who can talk the hind legs off a donkey sound impressive and thats about all .If in doubt ask them the difference between a adiabatic or isothermal engine . a proper mechanic will know and the answer is one type fuel seeks air and the other is air seeks fuel

the transmission replcement mechanic may have missed plugging the 02 sensor back up,or layed the 02 sensor wires across the exhaust system, which burnt the 02 sensor wires.they also may have missed plugging sensors back up. suggest you go back to replacement mechanic and have them explain to you why it does'nt run the same. but do not be fooled, somethings not plugged back correctly.i know budget living. is check engine light on? if so, auto zone and advance auto parts can diagnose with printout for free. no charge! hope this helps and thank you for choosing fixya.com us marine retired

I cannot keep the check engine light off .changed the01 and 02 sensors on bank2. this is the code that keeps coming up.

it may be reading o2 sensor rich or lean which is not a o2 sensor problem , its reading discrepancies from the exhaust, it may be a bad plug or a leaking injector, its a sensor and its just on emissions leaving the engine and attempting to control fuel ratio and if it can't it gives off a flag that something is not right

Bad crankshaft sensor on a 1994 GMC k1500 5.7L TBI Auto?

if your o2 sensor is reading too lean then you have a vacume leak spray brake cleaner on all your vacume hoses one at a time if nothing then spray it around your intake manifold gasket they are usually the culprit

Check engine light won't stay off

you could have a short in your o2 sensor wire and there for its not reading.Get a shop to hook up a diagnotic scanner and read what they are doing so you can see if its a loss of comunication or not and then go from there. Also make sure it was factory replacement o2 sensors and not one of those multifit jobs.

there are two 02 sensors actually on the engine. bank one is cylinders 1 3 5 bank 2 is 2 4 6. it controls the fuel to air ratio, if the O2 sensor is not working, the engine goes into limp mode, which means it is just putting as much fuel as possible into the cylinder, which will effect your gas mileage.

The O2 sensor may be fine, the pigtails off the 02 sensor go bad, the connection. I had in my car, i change the 02 sensor twice, then I found someone said the pigtails may be bad, so I cut the cars wiring harness pigtail, and the one coming off the 02 sensor, and directly wired it with the original truck 02 sensor, and it worked. all 02 sensors look similar, they screw in the side of the engine, and just have 4 wires coming off of it.

Try your origional one, and just bypassing the original wire connector, what I did was cut it off, skinned the wires, put some heat shrink rap on it, combined the wires together soldered them together, and heated the wire shrink rap, so that way it is water proof. car works perfect now.

In a Saturn SL2 1998, I have the check engine soon light on. The codes readings show P0133 and P0422.

P0133 is an oxygen sensor "response too slow" code (meaning it's not getting up to temperature quickly enough, and the computer is assuming damage to its heating element). P0422 is a catalytic converter problem indication (cat is below peak efficiency). It's assuming you have a failure with the primary O2 sensor and that the cat is also bad. Change your O2 sensor first, have the codes cleared, and see if the cat code comes back or if the O2 sensor change fixes both issues.
