Question about 2003 Toyota Camry Solara

Heavy power steering when turning right of 2003 camry altise

I went overseas for 7 weeks and after returning when i drove my car the power steering was heavy and very heavy when turning right..... the power steering oil is full.... so wat could be the reason? please help.

Problem looks quit similar to mine. There could be a leak in one of the hous or and the prower steering pump leak.

Power steering leak on 2003 CHEVY impala V6 3.8

When a power steering pump begins to fail, it's best to replace the pump and both pressure and return hoses to this system.
Recommend you replace this as soon as possible because it could eventually cause damage to your steering rack and pinion.

Power steering problems (stiff steering wheel)

you have to specific in the make , model , year and equipment type
you problem indicates seized bearings in the rubber mounts at the top end of the struts and you are actually trying to twist up the springs
the new rack fixed for a short period of time eliminates the power steering pump
It could be the steering column joints are dry and seizing up as well ( dead spots when turning the wheel indicates joints not turning freely0

Make sure the tie rod ends are greased up, if that is possible.

Had this same problem, a squeaking or creaking sound on a Ford Taurus that when we replaced the tie rod ends the sound went away.

Power steering a stiff and once completely failed

Check the hoses are not closed up and causing a restriction also check the relief valve.

should be under the dash somewhere near the steering wheel or the hood release generally left side of the steering wheel all the way down. just where plastic for dashbord ends.

if sears adjusted the brakes then the emergency brake handle can come on sometimes this has to be adjusted also ( always be careful when haveing anything power flushed as this can easely pop a seal and start leaking a few weeks down the line

Replace the intermediate shaft. See TSB (KT2008101402). It connects the steering to the rack and the u-joint binds.
