the cab heater fan?, there can be 4 fans on some cars. front condenser, 2 on rad, and 1 in cab heater box. the cab fan? does it fail on high too? it has a switch, (marked fan speed) the switch is bad ,if low speed are dead. and high are good. or wiring to it , the motor or the fuse. even a cracked fuse, change the fan fuse to a new fuse.
DON'T slam the glove compartment, that's near the passenger airbag. Check fuses for the fan, and the motor for the fan. The fan works sometimes, which means power is getting to it, might just need to be cleaned or replaced.
Basics,Check fuses. Is this an electronic dash control? If so ,good luck. Most common issue with these is Blower motor relay, located right next to blower. 2, 7/32 or 5.5 mm sockets to remove and inspect. If you see noticble burn marks, theres your culprits.Good luck
Check the resistor block. It is located under the hood on the passenger side firewall under the fan motor. It has two small screws holding it in place with a wiring plug attached. Clean out corrosion to restore good electrical connections. If cleaning does not restore operation a new resistor block will be required. Weatherproof the outside of the wiring plug to prevent further corrosion and reassemble.
There is a blend door motor on top of the housing. If you open the glove box, and look to the top of the housing near the left rear of the glove box, you should see the blend door motor. You can check it at this point. Also check the housing, as I have seen a number of these with a damaged or broken housing.
