Question about 2006 Pontiac G5
Hi I have a 2006 Pontiac Pursuit and I am unable to change my headlight. When I get under the hood I am able to remove the plug from the light but unable to take out the light.
There is a lot of things under the hood like a steel beam across the top. Can someone please help?
Canadian Tire want's $40 to replace the light.
Pg 5-43 in your drivers manual tells you how. You just need to remove the 2 hex bolts on top, then grab the whole assembly and pull it at an angle up, and towards the radiator. after you release the assembly you'll see the wire for the headlamp, Disconnect the bulb base from the wireing harness by lifting the plastic tab, remove the black retainer by turning it counterclockwise. Turn the bulb socket for the headlamp counterclockwise to remove. Do everything in reverse to put it back together.

Yes I can. First remove the two 10mm hex bolts that are above the entire headlight assembly. Now remove two black plastic rivots that are located just to the rear of the head light assembly. They can be easly removed by using pliers to remove the little inner rivot and then the larger holder. This releases the whole plastic cover and front grill on one side of the vechicle. You probably need someone to help you with the next step. Pull the grill forward about two inches, this will allow you to move the headlight assembly to the front and towards the radiator. Now you can reach the back of the assembly and remove the blue plastic wire connector by lifting up on the tab and pulling it to towards the rear of the car. Next rotate the large black bulb holder counter clockwise and remove. Now the bulb is removed by pulling it striaght back towards the rear of the car. Now replace the bulb and reassembe in the reverse direction. First time you probably need a buddy to help. Next time you can probably do it yourself. My son in law Bob, was the genius who figured this out
