Re: 1997 Porsche boxster does not start
The battery has lost its charge or the terminals are dirty , Have the battery charged and make sure the terminals are clean. To check that the battery charge is low do the following. turn on the driving lights and try to start ,if the lights go dim or out the battery is low. The alternator may be at fault and not charging the battery, make sure the drive belt tension is ok . to test the alternator with the engine running connect a volt meter to the battery terminals, around14 to 15 volts is ok, 12 volts or less the alternator or regulator is at fault.

There is obviously have a drain on the battery. You have a faulty break light pedal switch causing the lights to stay on, or your turn signal switch is bad. your brake lights run through, the turn signal switch too. That could also cause the problem.
When you say it doesn't start, does that mean the engine cranks when you turn the key but won't fire, or absolutely nothing happens when you turn the key on? Does anything electrical work; headlights, horn, dash lights, radio?
