Why is my plymouth mini van transmission slipping? It refused to go into gear after running for half and hour yesterday, I shut it off for a half hour then went in gear and I drove it home ten blocks

The thing that stands out in your complaint is that you were able to let transmission cool down and then shift into gear. That points me to the automatic transmission cooler not functioning due to excessive heat either clogged, leaking, fan not operating, cooling fins packed full of debris all or one could keep fluid from remaining cool enough to operate gears correctly. Hope this points to something obvious for ya

I have a suzuki jimny 2002 and get check engine light on and code P1600 an P0763 and when the switch is on i hear the relay on the TCM. can you suggest?

P0763 - Shift Solenoid C Electrical
Possible causes- Faulty shift solenoid C valve
- Shift solenoid C valve harness or connectors
- Shift solenoid C valve circuit is open or shorted
- Low transmission fluid level
- Dirty transmission fluid
When is the code detected? The P0763 code is detected when the gear required by the ECM does not match the actual gear when vehicle is driven.Symptoms- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Transmission will not shift gears.P0763 Description Shift solenoid valve C is turned ON or OFF by the Transmission Control Module (TCM) in response to signals sent from the park/neutral position (PNP) switch, vehicle speed and Engine Control Module (ECM) (throttle opening). Gears will then be shifted to the optimum position.

P1600 - Loss of KAM (Keep Alive ECM memory) Power; Open Circuit

Check all fuses related to the ECM

Transmission jumps into 2nd gear and wont shift out. even in first it slips and jumps into 2nd. the display that tells u what gear its in flickers and all the gears are circled so u cant even tell what...

The transmission has gone into 'limp mode' by the sounds of it. When the transmission shifting control system stops working, it defaults to 2nd gear in order that you can still drive the vehicle, so that you can get it to a shop without a tow. The shifting of this transmission is controlled electronically.
Check the wiring and connectors for your transmission for any kind of damage, corrosion, etc. If you are blowing a turn signal fuse with Neutral, something for sure in there is short-circuited.

Shifting gears

the speed sensor is for Overdrive only, it does not shift the gears it sends the signal to the transmission control module that in turn signals the overdrive shift solenoid to engage/shift into OD.

Transmmition problem

Hi.this is caused by lag that is actually occurring within the TCM(transmission control module) and solenoid connection.

The TCM and solenoids work together with the actual shifter inside the van on the steering assembly. when you shift to drive or reverse, the signal is relayed to the TCM and the TCM relays the signal ot the shift solenoid that is located inside the transmission pan. this solenoid , then, initiates the shift action. If there is a malfunction in the TCM or shift solenoid, it will slip or lag while shifting. this is what you are experiencing at this time.

I recommend testing the TCM and shift solenoids for there operational values. I would also check the transmission fluid level as well. Low fluid level can cause gear slippage or lag as well.

PLease rate and god bless:)
