Question about 2008 Infiniti FX35
My vehicle is a 2008 Infiniti FX-35. When operating the XM Radio, the center display console shows only 8 characters of the Artist and Title. I fine this to be very annoying, and I believe it may be a defect in the software that drives the center console. I know for a fact that the display console is capable of showing 16 characters, because I have seen it do so on two separate occasions.
I first contacted XM Radio, and they assured me that they are broadcasting the correct info so that the full Artist and Title should be displayed. They said it was a problem with the radio, but not their problem. I then consulted my local Infiniti dealer on two separate occasions, and both times, they have been unable to find a solution. They believe the radio is working correctly, and this it is only designed to display 8 characters of the Artist and Title information.
I am not convinced. Since I have seen it work differently with my own eyes, I know for a fact that the console is capable of displaying 16 characters instead of 8, but how do I get it to reliably do so? On the two occasions where it worked correctly, it only did that for a short time, then when the car was shut and turned back on, the old behavior was back.
How do I get my center console to display 16 characters of Artist and Title information when using the XM Radio feature?

SOURCE: Infiniti FX 35 stiff ride
The FX is a bouncy car, but it's necessary to accommodate it's good performance. You can try some aftermarket air shocks, or check into different tires. That should help.

haha. boys will be boys, right? can you give me the model and serial numbers on the radio unit? they should be stamped somewhere on it, so i can try to find some info on it.
first thing is to find the main power wires. does any of the wires match the schematics description of the ignition input, battery power input or negative/ground? the battery power is usually red, orange. the ignition input is usually yellow or pink. and the ground is usually brown or black. these wires are usually solid colors and should be thicker than the others.
are you able to tell where the inputs for these are on the unit?
do you know if the radio is tied into the security system?

SOURCE: Infiniti G35 speakers don't work
03 and 04 G35 vehicles had a Technical Service Bulletin issued regarding the audio circuit board. No sound was one of the symptoms of a faulty circuit board. There was a design flaw with the boards on the early model G35's that was corrected in 05.The audio units on those cars consisted of three pieces, the radio itself, which is just a silver box, a circuit board that attaches to the front of the radio and then the outer display. I would suggest contacting a dealership service dept. with your VIN number in hand, and ask if the circuit board has been replaced. Even if it has, It will still more than likely be the problem. It's either that or the radio

1st you will need to contact Infiniti, so they can quote you the option which is $700.00 something dollars when i checked. Just because its equipped there are still things that need to be added in order to make it function. As per the mechanic. Rip off.
