Question about 2004 Ford Thunderbird

Transmission problems after lines changed.

I have a 2006 dodge stratus. had a slow transmission leak so took car to shop and cooling lines were changed which stopped the leak. noticed car doesnt seem to be driving the same after lines were changed. checked transmission stick after driving and fluid level reach the cold mark after the car has been driven. I have called to take car back to shop in 3 days. I think the shop put the lines on and didnt add transmission fluid. I drove my car a week and now wonder if the transmission is ruined. I was thinking about adding fluid but if I do now the shop will probably say they didnt do anything wrong. should i leave my car sit the 3 days take it to the shop and show them the stick is low?

Leave it sit, let them see it,and say it's not running right now. ask them it was in there for a leak, why didn't they top it off? and ask them what are they going to do about it slipping? if they say nothing, pay for it and make sure to KEEP your reciets. tell them, you'll get another opinion from a tranni shop and you'll ask them if not adding fluid is the cause of it acting up now? fyi, this will cause them never to work on your car again. everything i said will **** them off and ban you from that shop. now, if they offer great. see, most shops carry insurance where if they ******* like that, the insurance will pay them to put in a new tranni and labor at no cost to yourself. it will raise their rates and they do their best to avoid this but if it means keeping a good rep, they normally will do so just to keep a good feedback from customers.

I have a 2006 dodge stratus 2.4 I just took the trani out and replaced all the seals due to a major leak she ran good no leaks for a week now she is pouring out trani fluid again where could it possibly be...

Did you prelube the seals after installation? Possibly damage one while installing? Use car wash pressure hose to clean things up, then try to find where the leak is.

I have a 2006 Buick Rendezvous. The radiator coolant has leaked into the Transmission. How can I fix this outside of replacing the transmission?

You have a real problem on your hands. Not only did coolant get into the transmission, transmission fluid most likely got into your coolant as well. The trans fluid will eat the lining of all the rubber cooling hoses and cause them to soften and eventually fail, and will cause a black, gunky color in the coolant. You will need to:
1. Replace the radiator since the trans cooler inside has broken.
2. Replace all coolant hoses and flush the entire cooling system.
3. Have the transmission rebuilt or replaced to ensure all coolant traces have been removed.

There is no easy fix for this....I had to do it myself.

Dodge charger transmission leaks when car cools at him 2006 dodge

Probably the pan seal is leaking. It expands when warm to slow the leak. Also, the bolts may have loosened.

You have a few sensors screwed into transmission, depends what type you have automatic or a stick, the best way to see is follow leak, may have to raise. But the very best way is to raise on a car lift like shops have to walk under and find and replace, plus you can see other parts that might need attention. If your Stratus needs a oil change, take to dealer and say nothing about leak, when they raise it up to change oil, they will notice your leak and follow and diagnose and figure everything out and tell you what's wrong and how much, you have the choice to let them or take home and do it yourself.

2006 dodge stratus leaks into passenger side floor.have had the ac evap drain checked and it's not that. Does not appear to be from the windshield either. help

the easiest way to check for a leak is to take the car through an automated car wash, I am not arguing with you but a coworker has the same car and her drain line was clogged and her floor board was wet on the passenger side, it cost her $25 for a mechanic to clear the drain line. I hope this helps Tim

Tran.leak in the cooling line though the radiator

If your getting coolant introduced to transmission fluid or vise-versa, you need to change rad & make sure you flush both cooling system & especially transmission thoroughly a.s.a.p. before it takes out the transmission, if damage hasn't already been done.
