Question about 1995 Buick Park Avenue

1 Answer

PA blows cold air everytime I restart the car

I have 1995 Buick Park Avenue and when I drive the car the heater comes on and works after about 5 minutes or so. But what happens when I stop and shut off the car to say run into a store for a few minutes when I come out and start the car up the heater starts to blow cold air. It usually takes a couple of minutes for it to get hot again. Is this normal for this car? It just kind of irritates me when it does this.

Thanks,
Terry

The cooling thermostat may be failing since this customarily diverts hot water to the heater core first to give a faster response. That isn't an expensive or difficult job to replace it so I would start there. If the system is going to be opened anyhow, I suggest you flush the system first. That may even solve the problem.
Coolant will be lost in the replacement so catch as much as you can to avoid having someone's pet lap up the stuff and die.

1995 buick park avenue a/c digital face stoped working and now blowing cold air all the time

Quite possible a blown fuse. However there is also a blower control module located under the hood near the center of the fire wall. It bolts into the heater box assembly, not to far from the blower motor. You may have to remove the relay/fuse cover assembly to see it. They are known to short out and cause all kinds of problems. Remember though it could also be a simple fuse in that area or under the dash. The worst case here is the whole climate control system in the dash failed.
