Question about Suzuki Esteem

Idle problem my  1999 Suzuki Baleno  has been overhauld and received a complete service but after all this ....   the car shuts-off while driving or while braking. i have to keep accelerating so it doesnt turn off.  could it be that the valve is working faulty ???  what could be the problem and is it easy to fix ? how much will it cost ???

    My 1998 S. Baleno is giving me the same issue. It started after servicing and doing an engine wash. Whenever i am in traffic of at a stop light and have my foot on the brake pedal it just goes dead.
    It usually gives a bucking vibration right before it goes dead and if i put it in natural and rev for a bit then back it gear it doesn't shut off but i have to be very quick.

    The 20amps fuse also gashes even when the gar is off. It i take it out and drive i still have the issue just not as mush.

    I NEED help cause no mechanic or electrician seems to know what the issue is and i cant be driving it in this condition

A non Esteem Baleno.
No engine stated. nor if the stalling is hot only cold or both engine temps. my guess hot engine only stalls.
wow some folks just post 1 word, stalls.
others, like you a nice list of symptoms.
very good. but no engine stated, the G16b? or J20? DOHC.?
this is called stalling, and stalling has many causes.
why not answer this first. (after engine size !!!)

my fast right foot can save the stall (first time ever told here ,bravo that) (there are over 50 causes, can post list but is silly to do )
is the engine misfiring? shacking?
1: easy to save stall? (called feathering the throttle)
2: hard , tad hard.
3: impossible (not you ,as you said)

if it only takes a tiny toe (right) press to keep if from stalling?
then it might be only a sticking ISC valve.
if tad harder its stuck open EGR (Defeat it to test this case)
if its not EGR and it misfires. (its not spark due to stated overhaul)

i only have questions, after all Im blind and cant drive your car.
2: CEL lamps glow , key on? then stay out running?
3: scan tool show any errors running,? our cars have OBD2 from 1996 to now, does your non USA car have OBD2? (varies by where on planet car was sold)
4: do you have full power wide open throttle up hills
yes, then the MAF is ok.

5: there are 5 engines used world wide on Baleno.
some have no MAF but do have a MAP.
6: the TPS sensor bad or will not signal idle and idle controls are dead.
7: the PCM is in limphome (i said to scan it) and if in failsafe, suzuki name for limphome, idle controls are suspended in failsafe.
the FSM states that clear as day. and is true from personal experience.

these tests show me that the cause is not loss of 12vdc to EFI or park.
in this case, the engine misfires so bad it stalls
or is just running out of air. (ISC stuck closed)
on our 1999 cars we drive with the the scan tool connected.
Omg, P0304. i check spark tip #4 and its green with antifreeze
or the injector leaks, or is partially clogged. is spark tip black on #3 or white. hummmmmmm
or other DTC errors driving and stalling.
any code with P03xx will cause stalls. not looking , is why you missed that...

    since you dont know cause, then COST would be impossible , right?
    why not get a tuneup first?
    and tell the mechanic. that it "stalls" .
    there are over 50 causes.
    no web bunny here can guess this. lots will try but it's futile.
    but most posters here, never do service, they wait until it stalls and wonder why.
    like spark plugs long since gone.

    overhauled. so tell what parts are new.
    i bet not sensors.?
    stalling can be cause on the G16 j20
    1:flooding are spark tips black?
    2: air leaks any air leaks will cause the MAF readings to be low. (wrong)
    and will run lean and stall. (intake leaks)
    3: the EGR stuck open , it will stall, clean it or replace it.
    4: spark gap set wrong or wrong plugs?
    5: is it MISFIRING?, SCAN PCM and see P030x DTC errors? or P03xx errors?
    6: dirty MAF, clean it yet,(at a distance of 6" to 12 inches, never less, using CRC maf cleaner...
    7: low compression.
    8: cam timed wrong.?
    9: spark timed wrong.
    10: cat melted
    and lots more,,,, huge list.
    we do 1 to 10 tests and find what major functions of engine and EFI are bad.

    Is there anyway to lower the idoling on my 2004 gran vitara? it's not a problem in summer, but high idol is a hazard in winter driving. It takes 5 - 10 minutes to lower.

    the MAF is a $1000 sensor. why guess that first? G16B engine, on the 2.0L J20 engine, it's not sold. they sell a whole throttle body. (there are china clones but they dont work)
    for more cash.
    but if you want to test yours, i can teach you. using a $10 volt meter.
    it's not hard. but will save you $1000.

    13patty why highjackk.
    start your own post.
    the fast idle cold is normal.
    and is EPA law. and hard coded in the ECU memory (software, )
    the only way to warm an engine when cold faster is to:
    1: run a higher temp thermostat, 195F forks.
    2: or in winter block the radiator core front with 1/2 card board,(ask people in Alaska about this its very common)
    or drag the brakes if you must drive with fast idle and still cold, 1500 rpm is typical.
    if idle is really too fast , then it needs service, (ect bad or? air leaks or?)

Ecu location in 1997 Suzuki baleno

what country?
some countries use this name for other bodies
which engine?
or usa car (this is a USA forum) is an Esteem for that body
so.... here is that answer.
as seen in the fsm book (factory service manual)
G16 or J18? engine, ill toss dices land on G16B engine.
our ECU is totally diffferent in usa, so hope it is in same spot
or cars are LHD, left hand drive, is yours?
so these words might be wrong, on LHD car.
The Engine Control Module (ECM) is located in the right side of the instrument panel behind the glove box.

so post country next time so we dont have to guess.
cars, engines, smog laws, brakes , lights and vast things vary

now year? baleno?
most newer cars have secruty radios.
the cars operator guide in the glove box, tells this, (lost it>?)
it says, (and is true)
its dealer only change.
any certified licensed lock smith that does cars, can too. (ask em)

some show "code' error
other go dead
others drop sound. and error.

1999 suzuki esteem fuel filter location

This is a Baleno in our market (Australia) and the G16B 1.6 EFI SOHC 16v has the fuel filter bolted to the firewall in the engine bay. This fuel system will be under pressure even after the engine has been off for a long period of time.

Engine pinning when accelerating only on cold Suzuki Baleno

Carbon build up on pistons raises engine compression.This is normal.Go up one grade on gas and/or put some fuel additive.If this doesnt solve it,have timing belt/chain inspected may need replaced

Suzuki Baleno (esteem) 1999. Engine Idle RPM not stable

you probably need to check the butterfly. its the compinent that controls how much air goes into the engine if it is weared than in idle state air leaks into the engine sometime more sometimes less and cause fluctuations in rpm

secondly there is a rpm switch which controls the rpm you can replace that switch and check
