How to remove and clean head lights

What do you mean by "remove and clean"?
You can remove the headlight by unscrewing two or 3 screws holding it up. If the plastic is like "burnt from the sun/mat/foggy looking" you can sand the plastic with 800grit sandpaper, then 2000grit, then 3000 grit (last one not necessary, but it's worth doing it) and finally polish the plastic with compound. You can also get them sprayed with clear coat once polished that way it will never get ruined again. If it's a different kind of dirty then I don't know

Cleaning foggy, oxidized headlight covers on my 2000 Subaru Outback with household items?nck AWD, 4 cylinder wagon...with?

Rubbing compound will buff off the oxidation that effects (clouds) the outside surface of plastics. Some waxes have a little abrasive that will help do this. Toothpaste will also work mixed with wax. Use some muscle and buff til it is dry to restore the plastic gloss. Shops use an electric or pneumatic buffer with a wool or foam pad and extra fine rubbing compound.

Remove headlight cover

The headlight cover is not really a is the assembly which needs to be removed completely from the car to access the bulb hole that is the only access to the interior surfaces of the assembly. Lots of screws and awkward positions to get it out. Best bet, leave it alone or pull the bulb socket and use very long q-tips to clean out moisture!

One of my headlight is foggy and dirty on the inside is there a way to take the headlights out and clean them?

Nope...they are a sealed beam type and if it is foggy or has dew in it the seal is bad. You could remove the headlight assembly and wash it out but you will have it happen again.

How to replace the head lamp on a 1990 Saab 900?

STEP 1 The following steps were for a 99 95 but should apply to all cars with slight variations. Unlike with some other types of cars... the wiring to your burnt-out headlamp (not to the Head...light Assembly) is hidden. First, find the large dome-like black plastic cover on the back of the headlight assembly. Rotate it slightly to unlock, and it should fall away. STEP 2 Grasp the plastic connector that is now revealed, and wiggle it from side to side while pulling toward the rear of the car.
STEP 3 Depress the upper part of the metal restraining clip so that it can swing down and out of the way. STEP 4 Gently pull, or rotate and pull, the headlamp out of the headlight assembly. STEP 5 Being careful not to touch the glass on your new headlamp... (use a clean cloth)...grasp the lamp by the two metal tabs and gently insert it into the hole in the assembly. STEP 6 Replace the connector. STEP 7 Replace the black plastic cover, rotating slightly to lock. Check to make sure it is locked in place.

Headlights are foggy inside how do i clean them

the fogginess is caused by oxidation on the outside. normal wear and tear.

This is what i did on my honda civic 1996- bought three sand paper 600-1500 and 2000. Bought plastic shine from autozone and some plastic gloves.

1) I cleaned it with diluted soap to get all the dirt out. Use soft cotton cloth to do this.
2) get some clean water and dip sand paper(600) and start sanding the headlight. sanding should be done in the same direction throughout. I used horizontal strokes. Don't let the sandpaper dry out.
3) clean it out with water so all the sand particles from the sanding is cleaned out.
4) start with the next grade sand paper and repeat the process till you are satisfied and the fogginess is gone.
5) clean it thoroughly with water and let it dry fully.
6) put in gloves and rub plastic shine all over the headlight and leave it to dry. Make sure it does touch the paint!! you can mask the sides to avoid that.
7) clean it with soft cotton or polishing cloth. It really works!!!

Also, stay away from direct sun while doing this. Having the hood up is helpful.
