Thanks Michigan Man. Serviceman said no band adjustments on transmission. He needs to rebuild for $1,000.00.

What kind of GM parts would solve problem?

You need to make sure all of the sensors are plug in the transmission and all of the vaccum lines are not loose under the hood and no holes are damage and you made have to adjust the bands in the transmission but if you have done all of this and the problem is still the same here is a place that sells only GM-parts only its schram auto & truck parts # 1800-292-1032

call Schram and let them know what is happening with the car and they will let you know what part is needed to help with the problem because it could be the torque converter or a bad sensor on the transmission

If the transmission was slipping, there is no fix for that

Being a 1992 i would talk him into parting with it

To old to be rebuilding a trans & you will need wiring
diagrams & most likely more knowledge than you have
to use them, for all the electrical issues

IF your transmission is truly slipping then changing the fluid is not going to help. It won't hurt but it won't help. I am wondering, are you sure the transmission is slipping. It will have a check engine light on and a trouble code if it is slipping.

You may need the transmission rebuilt, once it starts to slip that is the end in mist cases. Have a local transmission repair shop confirm my guess on this

Transmission slips after engine warms up

It isn't when the engine gets hot, it is when the transmission fluid gets hot that the slipping starts, due to wear of the clutches and gears inside the transmission.
First, check the fluid level to make sure it is full. If it is low, bring fluid level to full and see if that helps.
About all the owner can do with slipping automatics is trying a transmission fluid and filter change to see if transmission revives and stops slipping. The bottom pan is removed, fluid (about 6-8 quarts) is drained, and a new filter is installed before the pan is replaced with a new gasket, sealed up, and fresh fluid added. Sometimes it helps. Sometimes the transmission is worn too bad to help, and you are left with looking for a replacement transmission.
Check the fluid level first. Good luck.

Slips when cold . 15 min it gets warm and quits slipping , an starts shifting a little hard. Not low on fluid . automatic

Hi, if the transmission starts to slip, shift oddly, makes noise or misbehaves, check to see that the ATF level is correct and if it is correct, get the tranny flushed, and the filter changed....

Slips when shifting when it is cold also when the transmention gets to hot it will start to shift hard and it will quit slipping we had check fluid and it wasn't low.

If the car has less that 80,000 miles you may can get buy by replcing the EPC solenoid and changing the fluid and filter. This is not a do it yourself job .If you have a code P1811 ,P1812 or a max adapt code you will need to everhaul or replace the transmission.Dont recomend used because it will most likely have the same problem.Good Luck!

DIRTY TRANSMISSION OIL .

no but a low fluid level could cause a slip telling the ecm there is a slip top it off then clear the code and drive a few miles if this code comes back i would say there is internal damage to the tranny

Transmission shudders. Now it wont accelerate

Always consider doing a fluid change and filter change - your description of your problem can often be solved with that. (Of course, low fluid can also cause a problem.)
