Question about 1995 Land Rover Defender

Rover 216 wont start

The batt went flat on my rover 216 p reg.Ive put a new one on but now when i put the ignition on it makes a two tone buzzing.I think this has something to do with factory fitted immobilizer-alarm.I only have one key and its not the fob type.Is there something stupid i have to do like click the key 10 times, lock the doors then climb out back window or something like that,Or is there anyway i can bypass it.Any help will be gladly welcomed.thanks.neil

Do you have the EKA code, emergency access code a 4 digit code, usually found with the service books. ?

If you have a remote for the car, then make sure all the windows, bonnet, doors etc are closed. Lock it down and then keep pressing the remote. it should re activate itself.

If not , enter the car and try again to start as usual.

If all this fails, then you will need the EKA code to rest the system. If you dont have the code, then you must take the car to whoever deals with Rover now and get them to couple up the computer to rest it and give you the EKA code.

    Hope this helps

Unlock your car with the key, put the key in the ignition switch, remove one of the battery terminals now switch the ignition to the running position then put the battery terminal back on this will bypass the rovers immobiliser and alarm system

Tried to jump start car with leads, battery sparked. lights work but engine wont start

Either you have a completly dead batt. or your starter is shot.. You can not jump a car with a flat dead Batt. but a BOOST PACK will....it's all about the AMPERAGE.

Hi i have a Daewoo Lanos R Reg 1600. It keeps drianing the batte

I have replace the ignition switch itself in Hondas that had starting problems. The switches were worn out.My idea is maybe they use a simular switch. Unfortunatly I think the last one I bought was like $55.00 retail. If you do a ignition switch make sure you disconnect the battery first.
I hope this info helps.

My 1988 F-150 wont start but will turn over.

Look in this direction. You have solved the possible issues with the starting, now move on to checking your fuel and transmission. I suggest you look at the wires coming off the transmission first, then check to see if the TBI or carb are dry i.e. no fuel. The sound you could be hearing is your fuel pump or a normal sound coming from the starter switch. If you can give me more detail. I may be able to help more. bruceemon@peoplepc.com

Rover 216 coupe

The honda engine in the rover suffered from the amplifier module in the distributor going faulty. Remove dist cap ans rotor arm, underneath you will see a small square box with 5 wires onto it, if i remember, its held in with 2 screws. remove this and replace with new .
