Question about 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 Truck
I just got a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 with a 318. Drove it home, no problems. Went back out about 8 hours later and all it will do is turn over. I just bought it from a used car lot and it started fine when I test drove it and today when I brought it home. No warning lights came on that I can tell. Its just like I shut it off and took the coil wire off. Why would it run fine, shut it off and then just crank as if to have no fire?
This problem is not unusual ,without seeing the car as i have no product knowledge with american built cars as such, but if it has one coil and not a coil pack then its the ignition module ,these often go just as you describe .Stop car to pop in shop and then no go,this is not the dealers fault they just pack up ,ask dealer nicely and no doubt they will send someone around to put a new one in for you .
