2006 Grand Caravan I switch the turn signal on and turn the wheel, the signal does not turn off and I hear a clicking sound coming from the steering column.

it is the return cam located inside of the steering wheeel. Some are a part of the turn signal stalk and some are a part of the back side of the steering wheel.

Clicking when signal light is not on.

You have a bad hazard flash switch (your 4 way flasher) you have a short inside the switch ,very common you will need to replace it to stop the problem

Intermittent clicking sound

This is a fairly common problem on the '04 Grand Am.  I recently fixed the problem on mine.  The problem is in the contacts inside the multifunction switch which is comprised of the turn signal lever and windshield wiper level.  If you remove the plastic covering around the stearing wheel (simple just a few hex head screws) you can see the multifunction switch directly ontop of the steering column.  Remove the screw holding it in place and disconnect the several wires in the back.  The whole unit will come right out, you can take in your house and fix the rest.  If you open it up - there several screws required to do this - you will see copper contacts where the turn signal lever touches to indicate its position (left right or off).  Clean this off well with a damp paper towel to remove the grease and reapply some dielectric grease to the contacts.  Put everything back together and you should be click-free!  The problem seems to be that over time the contacts wear down and arching can occur between the contacts, thus confusing your turn signal clicker and allowing it to click at random times.  Cleaning it out gets rid of any metal fragments in the grease and the new grease will act to prevent the arching.

This is a fairly common problem, to correct it you need to replace your flasher unit ($30) it is located directly behind the hazard light button on the dash.
