Heater don't work

Were is the blend actuator on a windstar, I have no heat?

I have no heat in the front and can hear the clicking noise when I move the cool to hot control. I have talked to techs that say most likely it is the blend door actuator and have heard the price ranges from $33 (kragen) to $70 (Ford) to purchase and 1.5 hrs or more to install. I have taken off the front center plastic cover below the cup holders and do not know if I can get to it from there or does the whole radio section need to come out?

U must remove the entire dash assembly to replace the blend door actuator motor, it is approx center on dah on the out side of heater/AC air ducting. This is no a job for a DIYer.

2003 Ford Windstar heater acuator located?

Is the heater not working in the front of the van, but is working in the back? You might mean the 'blend door actuator'. It's not easy to get to. The correct way is to remove the dashboard. Search YouTube for 'Windstar blend door actuator' to get some ideas.

No heat replaced heater core thermostat

So the blend door opens? Does the fan motor blow? Are both heater hoses hot? That would indicate the coolant is circulating through the core.

Heat wont work

Possibly a bad heater blend door actuator. You get to it by removing the radio. Part is about $35 from auto parts store. Another issue due to plastic gears....... Warning -- don't drop anything back there -- use a cheap flashlight - you may never see it again.

The heat in the front of my 2001 Windstar blows cold air but the rear heat works fine.

The blend door actuator is the most likely cause. It is on the front of the heater box under the dash and looks like the picture below and #14 on the system exploded diagram. Remove the actuator, plug it back into it's cable, turn the key on and change the temperature setting to see if the actutor turns. If not, replace the actuator.

On my 2001 windstar when i turn the lever to hot section I could hear click, click sound and it does not get warm only cold air coming.

Global 1207 is right. It's your blend door actuator which is sticking. Probably the plastic teeth on the cog inside are worn. It is white plastic and is located behind your radio. It controls the opening of your blend door from A/C (closed) to heat (open). Buy a Ford Windstar radio removal tool from any parts store (less than $10.00) remove the radio. You will then have access to the actuator. At the bottom right you will see a little plastic wheel with an indented square. Find a long flat head screwdriver that wil fit diagonally into the square and turn it clockwise slowly. The blend door should pop open and heat will enter the cabin. Finally when you have the time replace the unit. They sell for about $75.00 at the dealer or cheaper elsewhere. Good luck. This worked for me.

My 2000 winstar has duel heat, the rear works, but the front does not.

This is most likely caused by a failure of the heater blend door actuator, which you can fix at home in about three hours (if you have small hands). The front heater is actually working, but the blend door is stuck shut by the failed actuator and is preventing the heat from reaching the dashboard vents. To get at the blend door actuator, you have to take the radio out. Behind it and built into the duct work of the heater is the actuator module, which you can remove and replace fairly easily. NO heat in front of 2001 windstar van. Thumping

Blend air door may be stuck. I removed a pencil from a heater box before. It had fallen from the dash, down through the defrost vents and jamed the door.

I have a 2000 ford windstar no heat still

My 99 windstar did this too. It was the blend door that the actuator motor goes into was broke. When you pull the actuator out look into the hole and see if you see a d shape piece coming out of the box if it is not d shape it is broke check out this site great photos
