Question about 2003 Mazda Mazda6

Battery light on and stuck in third

Off and on my car would stick in third and the battery light would appear. Sometimes after a few miles it would shift and be normal then it would happen again. Then one day my electrical (radio ect. ) went out and everything went haywire. All the indicator lights (airbag, seatbelt) flashed off and on and my lights would make clicking sounds. After a mile or so, the car was still running but not moving. What is wrong and what needs fixed?! PLEASE

Your alternator is not charging, that is why your gear is stuck because its short in current, replace your alternator.

SOURCE: #5 cylinder misfire

I have a corolla and had #4 cylinder misfire also diagnosed at autozone. After changing the spark plugs, problem persisted, along with the same error code, so they recommended changing the spark plug wires, and that is what fixed it. I would have changed the rotor cap too, but was low on dough. Glad that was not the problem.

Drive it into a dark place, or wait till dark. When it's running poorly, see if you can see any spark flying around. It sounds like plug wires.

Internal transmission failure, What you describe is loss of prime. This can range from low fluid level to low pressure from the front pump. You can check you transmission fluid, have vehicle running placed in park check the transmission dip stick,The fluid must be in the range. You can also shot gun a repair by replacing the output speed sensor.

The brake light on my dash stays on even when the emergency brake is off. THe interior light sometimes goes on when the door is opened, sometimes doesn't and the ignition light doesn't always come on

The handbrake warning light is activated by a switch on the handbrake bracket under the console. This is most likely stuck or broken.

The interior light staying off when the door opens is common. It could be that a door plunger switch is sticking (they can corrode inside), or there is poor contact at each end of the dome light globe. Take out the globe and press the contacts closer (just a bit) then push the globe back in, checking that it is firmly held. Then spray a little WD40 or similar on the plunger of each door switch and press it in a few times against the spring.

Which ignition light is not working, one of the warning lights? Or the check engine light?

The oil level drops to one third after one 1.000 miles. There doesn't appear to be leakage

When you say one third, of 4.25qts that will be down to 1.3qts left in engine, well miles on car unknown.... still is a big lost on 1k mls, check your spark plugs for oil deposits and also remove your intake hose on the throtle body and check for traces of oil, if found you have stuck oil rings on your pistons, this happens by using wrong oil viscosity that plugs oil rings drains causing it to sludge and get stuck, al of this goes to a re-ring job needed.
Good luck

When starting the car the transmission indicator

There is a tiny sensor on the transmission stick, it is miss-reading the position of the of the transmission stick. You really dont need to worry about it. Good luck
