Try turning the key to the on position for 3 seconds, then off again, do that 3 times to "prime" the fuel back to the injectors becuase it seems your fuel is leaking back down to the tank. If thats the case, then your leaking fuel somewhere, either the pressure regulator, checkvalve in pump, etc. Pull the vacuum line off the regulator and if you see any fuel replace it, otherwise its probably the fuel pump crapping out on you.

Check the fuel system. make sure that the fuel filter is clean and working. Also check the choke settings. It seems that the choke is not engaging. try to press the accelerator all the way to the floor before starting the car. This will engage the choke. Then push it at least half the way down and try to start it. If not , the choke is the problem.

When it losses power have a fuel pump pressure gage hooked up, it may be the pump is badly worn and it is losing pressure after it heats up, have seen this many a time. Also run a fault code test on the engine control computer using an OBD2 code reader.

HI my name is Tom and I am here to help.

This is a very tough problem. There are many reason a pedal would stick. This may sound silly, but I once had a pedal stick because it was hung up on a floor mat. In the morning it wouldn't go down and once the mat got loose so did the pedal.

Along these same lines, look at where the accelerator linkage goes through the fire wall. There is a rubber grommet which when stiff in the morning would hinder the pedal but once warm would work fine.

I hope these ideas are of some help..Either way let me know if I can be of further help. You can call or email me. Also please give me as many thumbs as you think my info was worth. This is the only feed back I get.

Jetta has no gas pedal pressure

If this car has a carb, the most common problem is the auto choke mechanism get siezed/ gummed up. Remove tha carb plenum in the morning before starting. Depress the accelerator pedal and check that the flap on top of the carb has closed.
