Try pushing the 4 wires on the radio supression relay into the connector, then try starting it... does it start, run, then die? those connectors ****, i've had the same prob. have you let it huff on some ether? (starting fluid) does it come to life? that would confirm weather or not it its fuel related. my 740 i was loosing voltage to my injectors 10 volts and under, causeing them to inttermittantly not fire, caused by a bad connection at that supression relay.

Sounds like a faulty injector, had the same problem about 2 years ago cost over £1500 to have new injectors fitted.

It might be worth trying some redex or similar cleaning product incase its just blocked.

I have a 1999 volvo s70 non-turbo 2.4 5 cyl. I bought it 1 year ago with 124k. It runs great, but the a/c cuts off when it gets over 90 degrees. At freeway speeds, it stays on (until it gets around 100...

There have been a lot of problems with the compressor cutting out when it gets hot. When the A/C begins to blow warm, check the power supply wire to the compressor. If there is power in the wire, you will most likely have to replace the compressor. If there is no power, you will have to trace it back to see what the problem is (a wiring diagram will help greatly).

Replace the cat you have ran it for years with a bad 02 sensor so now replace it and you will get better performance and better gas miliage. Never run a check engine light fo a long time it's telling you something is wrong. youer lucky you did not destroy the engine.

What is the size of a Volvo v70 engine?

There are 3 engine choices in the 98 volvo v70. All are 5 cylinders, 1. 2.3L turbo
2. 2.4L MFI DOC
3.2.4L Turbo
#2 is the most common engine for that year and model. If your engine doesn't have a turbo, that's the one u have.

1988 Volvo 740 cold condition, started short, cannot start again

Check the fuel pump fuse and fuel pump relay first, before replacing the fuel pump. The fuses and relays are behind the the ash tray, The fuses are labelled. The relay is on the left side of the relay rack, closest to the big round bulb out sensor. But before that, how about pouring some gas line anti-freeze or fuel injector cleaner into the tank?
