Question about 2000 Buick Park Avenue

Stabilize system activates on right turn when braking

I have 2000 Buick Park Avenue (loaded) .When turning right and applying brakes the Stability Control System activates, ON -- and then activates the ABS system ON -- and won't allow car to move through the turn when you accelerate the engine . I then have to shut off the ignition for a few seconds which clears the problem and restart the engine. Any Ideas?

Yoho, I beleive you will find a wheel speed sensor fault. As you apply the brake, the ABS unit sees a "0" MPH reading on one of the sensors and assumes the tire is sciding. Therefore, activates the stability system.
Have the vehicle scanned at your favorite shop or go to Auto Zone / Advanced Auto for a free scan. Record the codes.
Let me know.
Regards,

My 2003 cts fill like im driving with a flat tire. Then the service stability system light comes on my navigation. How do I now what to fix?

SERVICE STABILITY SYS
Refer to ABS Description and Operation in Antilock Brake System ! You need to take it an have DTC'S diagnostic trouble codes read ! That will point you to a diagnostic path !
Vehicle Stability Enhancement System (VSES)
The vehicle stability enhancement system (VSES) adds an additional level of vehicle control to the electronic brake control module (EBCM).
Yaw rate is the rate of rotation about the vehicle's vertical axis. The VSES is activated when the EBCM determines that the desired yaw rate does not match the actual yaw rate as measured by the yaw rate sensor.
The desired yaw rate is calculated from the following parameters:
?€¢
The position of the steering wheel

?€¢
The speed of the vehicle

?€¢
The lateral, or sideways acceleration of the vehicle

The difference between the desired yaw rate and the actual yaw rate is the yaw rate error, which is a measurement of oversteer or understeer. If the yaw rate error becomes too large, the EBCM attempts to correct the vehicle's yaw motion by applying differential braking to the appropriate wheel. The amount of differential braking applied to the left or right front wheel is based on both the yaw rate error and side slip rate error.
The VSES activations generally occur during aggressive driving, in turns or on bumpy roads without much use of the accelerator pedal. When braking during VSES activation, the pedal pulsations feel different than the ABS pedal pulsations. The brake pedal pulsates at a higher frequency during VSES activation.
If you do not know about this , I suggest you take it to a ASE certified repair shop that does !

What does it mean when my 2008 trailblazer LT stabilitrac service light comes on?

Service Stability System Message The message center displays the service stability system message when any one of many VSES-disabling DTCs is set. The EBCM sends a serial data message to the IPC requesting this display.
It means there is a problem an till you get it fixed the stability control system is disabled ! ( EBCM ) electronic brake control module Has detected a problem an set a DTC - diagnostic trouble code in it's memory an had the message displayed !
Vehicle Stability Enhancement System (VSES)
The vehicle stability enhancement system (VSES) provides added stability during aggressive maneuvers. Yaw rate is the rate of rotation about the vehicle's vertical axis. The VSES is activated when the electronic brake control module (EBCM) determines that the desired yaw rate does not match the actual yaw rate as measured by the yaw rate sensor.
The desired yaw rate is calculated by the EBCM using, primarily, the following inputs.
?€¢
The position of the steering wheel

?€¢
The speed of the vehicle

?€¢
The lateral, or sideways acceleration of the vehicle

The difference between the desired yaw rate and the actual yaw rate is the yaw rate error, which is a measurement of oversteer or understeer. When a yaw rate error is detected, the EBCM attempts to correct the vehicle's yaw motion by applying brake pressure to one or more of the wheels. The amount of brake pressure which is applied varies, depending on the correction required. The engine torque may be reduced also, if it is necessary to slow the vehicle while maintaining stability.
VSES activations generally occur in turns during aggressive driving. When braking during VSES activation, the pedal may pulsate. The brake pedal pulsates at a higher frequency during VSES activation than during ABS activation.

What is the stability system? is it important to fix right away?

The stability system uses opposing force braking to keep the car stable in low traction conditions, it is a very good safety system and should be checked as soon as possible.

You need to have your vehicle diagnosed and
repaired, any time, any Malfunction Indicator
Light comes on your dash

You have a possible issue with your ABS Braking System
Do not use it until repaired
