First you have to take the bolt off, then you really have to yank on it. It,s not easy but it will come off .

They do make a steer wheel puller that makes the job a lot easier.

Key broke off inside ignition need to replace

Try using a pair of thin, long-nosed hemostats if you can see the key remnant.
If you can't see the remnant, don't take the wheel off. Call a mobile locksmith; he can usually help for around 30 bucks.

With my key in the ignition, the key won't turn over, what's the problem ?

The antitheft device on the ignition switch is locked. Does the steering wheel rotate freely with the key in?
Sometimes you have to wiggle the steering wheel to free the key lock.
There is a remote possibilty that the ignition switch broke, and the only solution would be to take it apart and fix it or replace it, a job best performed at the dealer.

2004 Santa Fe Ignition switch locked

I just had this happen to me yesterday with my 2002 Santa Fe. After trying everything (jiggling steeling wheel, shaking the car, you name it we tried it). We got a chain and pulled the car ahead about 2 feet. That didn't seem to do anything but we then pulled up the emergency brake into the lock position and tried to start the car (with the ER brake on) and it worked!!! The steering wheel came unlocked and the car started up. Don't know if it was the pulling of the car that broke something free or if it was the ER brake, but that was what worked for me.
