I've never seen a pulley fail... If it's just the pulley, remove the fan and change pulley. If pump has failed and the pulley is wobbling, yes...change the pump. To remove, just take off what's in the way, take the pump off, remove ALL gasket material on the block and put new pump on, reversing the process. There are lots of half decent manuals to guide you if you need them but if you pay attention to what goes where and mark everything as you go, you should be OK. If you overheated, change the thermostat also...they often fail after an overheat!

Just changed my serpentine belt and now its getting hot. almost positive that the belt is on right. could i have done any damage when i broke my serpentine belt. it was running when it broke

First verify that the belt is on correctly. If the belt is around the water pump the wrong way it will spin the water pump backward and not correctly circulate the coolant causing it to overheat. When you drove it without the belt did you overheat the motor? How quickly does it overheat? Does thermostat ever open?

Serp belt broke, replaced, broke again, appears fan pully not rotating. Can not rotate the pully by hand. Whats the problem?

Weak belt tensioners were very common in these trucks to get weak and stick, causing the belt to be thrown because of loss of tension.

Waterump installation

It all depends on your motor. If you have an inline 6cyl, a v6, or a v8, you are golden. I am pretty sure you either have a 3.7 in your jeep, or the 4 cyl. If you have the 3.7, your belts will be facing you when you open the hood. The water pump should be about center. If you pull up a pic, or go to an autoparts store, check and see if they have it, and they will show you a picture. You may have to pull the radiator if there isn't enough distance, but if you have the 4cyl, it will be a bear. You will have to pull you wheel off the passenger side, and maybe take a motor mount, and jack the motor back a little to reach. May want to consult a mechanic either way to be sure you know what you're getting into. The only real pains are removing the pulley sometimes. Putting the belt back on, and reinstalling the radiator. Over all, i would say 2 to 3 hours max if all goes well.
