Question about 1999 Dodge Ram
I broke a piece on the steering column. I went to put it into reverse and the shifter was locked up so I turned the wheels and it was still bound up so I pulled on the shifter a little harder and well a little too hard it broke a piece that connects to the shifter. The piece is plastic and connect to a nipple right inside the dash on the gear shifter. I don't know what this piece is called and couldn't get much help even with pictures at a auto parts store. It is about 8 inches long or so and has a cable running out of it into the motor area I'm guessing to the transmission. If you have any idea what this part is and where I could get one it would help a lot. Thanks
This kind of sounds like you might of broke your shifter interlock. If that is the case you will need a new shift cable.
