Fuel pump? If the vehicle has more than 60,000 miles the likely-hood increases with the miles. There are a few factors that play in, like how often were the fuel filters replaced (recommended every 15,000 miles) and how low do you let the gas tank get before refilling.

BE ABSOLUTLY SURE IT HAS AT LIEST 5 GALLONS OF FUEL
First Try the Inertia Fuel Shutoff Switch ,It is Located On the Kick Pannel In the Hole Below the Hood Latch Handle, Stick Finger in this Hole And Feel for A Button,. And Push it In, If you Feel it Push in then Fallow These Directions. Turn Ignition On and Off 4-6 times, then see if it Starts if so you are Good to Go If Not, We Need to Check For Fuel And SPARK to help determine Where NO START PROBLEM Originates ..I Suspect The Fuel Inertia Shutoff Switch so First Try the Inertia Fuel Shutoff Switch then Get Back With Us Here at FixYa.com

1987 Ecoline van V-8 engine hasn't been started in about 7 years. It ran good before that. What do I have to do first to start it and get it running?

I would change all the fluids and either try dry gas or i would recommend that the gas tank be thoroughly drained and new gas put in the tank.If you have a hard time getting started try to use starter fluid in carburetor or if you have none just use gas. If the vehicle is equipped with fuel injectors locate air filter and follow air duct to engine that is where starter fluid or gasoline will have to be pored to prime the injectors.if it don't start the engine should be tuned up with a major tune up replace all filters ect even if it starts without tune up i would tune it up asap!

93 Chevy Lumina Van Acts Like It's Out Of Gas

Your battery may be at it's very very end of it's life or is already in the battery heaven and no boosting is going to bring it back. Start with replacing the battery, if the money is tight do what i do and go to the Salvage Yard. The average price there for a good battery is $15,00 to $35.00, depends on the yard. Got mine for $15.00 and it may need to be replaced now, it's been almost 4 years. You want to pick one up that has the highest cold cranking amp (CCA) that you can fit in your car and there is date of service on the battery you want to look for. A bad Battery will cause your engine to stall if it's no longer holding a charge. Start with that and then we can worry about the harder things. Note: if the Volt drops less then 10.5 volts, the ECM will shut down the engine. Good luck and hope this helps. Keep me posted.

Just put gas in car but it is acting like its out of gas,

sounds like bad gas. go to local Napa parts tore and buy something called Sea Foam and put it in tank. It will work wonders.
