1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. Approx. 165480 mi. and well looked after. Took in for coolent leak (puddle under engine) and reservoir levels always low (duh). On 9/30/10 @ AAA shop told me they did...

I would contact the BBB about the AAA shop. They were taking advantage of you not to mention they did not warranty there work. Plus if they changed the pump they were the ones that left the clamp loose. In the future you should just take it to the shop you know and trust even if it cost you a little to have it towed there, it will be less than getting taken advantage of. It hard to find a good honest shop and it sounds like you have one so give them the business they deserve it.

Ford faimont using a lot of coolent

When you have coolant loss, it can go out as a leak which would make a pool of antifreeze under the car, or it can go through the engine into the exhaust. This shows up as white smoke that smells like pancake syrup. It's hard to tell from your description which one is going on. The first cause is more simple to fix, you would just find the leak and change maybe the water pump or the leaky radiator or heater core. The second is likely a blown head gasket, which is an expensive repair.

99 Buick La Sabre-accelrating problem-fuel injectors?

It sound as though the car is overheating and maybe the mechanic did not properly blled the system to expel the air.
Air does not heat or cool in a pressurized environment and will read ok on the temp guage.Basically the air is plugging the circulation at the senders spot.
Call the repair shop and ask if it was properly bled.

Coolent leeking and cooling fans mot working

you need to locate leak coolant fan not going to come on if coolant low because the coolant make the coolant sensors tell computer to turn on fans at 190.F.sensor has to be in coolant.it act as a thermostat.you need to fix leak.or you will have engine damage.

Smelling antifreeze from the coolent A !
Definitely a leak!
Hopefully not a head gasket leak!
Try warming it up without any accessories on until it gets good and hot, pop the hood and look all around!

2001 xtera loosing coolent but don't know where from

These engines had some issues with headgaskets leaking coolant externally. It is a small leak and usually only when hot, so there is no puddle because the coolant evaporates before it gets off of the block.

Get under the vehicle and, using a light, look at the rear face of both cylinder heads. If you see a greenish-white stain, that's the issue. This is a very labor-intensive job and should only be attempted by a qualified technician. I don't know your experience level, so I can't say whether you should try this yourself or not.

If you don't see any staining, a cooling system pressure test would be in order.

If you're located somewhere in central Pennsylvania, I could probably help you out.

Hope this is helpful!
