You were close. I traced my brown wire from the switch on my dash to the splitter back near my tail lights where the wiring splits to each light. About a foot up from the splitter was where I had a heavily corroded and exposed wire thus my problem. Also some hack that owned the car before me rewired the wiring back there by twisting the wires together.... thats it no tape, no connectors, nothing just exposed wires twisted together. awsome!

Had a similar problem with my 97 power stroke. somehow the plug in the wiring harness below the bed at the rear of the truck vibrated loose I had all lights but brake lights. Or it may be a ground wire issue. Good luck. Let us know how it works out.

1994 Chevy C1500 truck. No rear brake lights

Most likely this is a brake light switch issue. Replace switch.

If your emergency flashers don't work, all flasher bulbs are fine, but flashing too fast, then check and replace Hazard light switch.

Where is the brake relay on a 2000 tahoe

No relay in the wiring diagram. There is a 20amp hazard fuse and a 10amp vehicle stop fuse in the engine compartment fuse box.
If those fuses are good, and the brake light switch checks out ok, I would look at the turn signal switch next.

My 97 chevy blazer, the brake lights dont work but the third brake light does and the turn signals or hazard lights dont work??

More likely it is the hazard/turnsignal/highbeam/cruise control switch module. It costs about $275 for the module. However there is a repair kit for the likely culprit...the hazard button. Try jiggling it around a little, see if that helps. Spray a little WD-40 into it so it can jostle back into it's correct position. You could try a junkyard unit or Ebay. It's not too hard to change. The hard part is doing it without removing the steering wheel. It can be done. I've done it. But hopefully you can locate the repair kit which costs about 15 dollars. Good luck.

99 Chevy Tahoe... Rear turn signals, brake lights, and hazards

I had this problem, and to be honest, it happened to the left side about a week later...it's the board that the bulbs plug into...it's a very common problem with this model. So popular that you can normally get the socket board off the shelf at a parts store! it's extremely simple to replace, and I replaced all the bulbs at the same time!

Chevy tahoe 1999 all 3 brake light wont work good fuse, bulbs, brake switch

Chevy uses a rear lamp junction board that is under the truck at the rear frame/tire area. Check there for your problem.

!997 Tahoe, the right rear turn and brake lights dont work.

If you live in an area of temperate weather, you may have some corrosion that has caused you to lose the ground contact there.  That and a fuse that services those lights are about the only things that could cause all three to fail.
