Vacuum to the egr valve on my 89 chevy van with 3o5

I have a 89 chevy van with 305. the egr is not working properly. the vacuum out of the throttle body is good but there seem to be no vacuum coming out of the egr valve. is this because egr valve is stuck closed or is there another possible cause for no vacuum at the egr?
if the egr valve is stuck can i clean it by spraying or soaking it?

How can i test the EGR valve on my 89 G20 van? a guy said try disconnecting and plugging the vacuum hose going to the EGR valve and then what? if the engine turn off its ok? if not its ok? thanks for the...

You should be able to feel underneath it. With your fingers on the bottom plate unplug the vacuum and the plate should move and move again when you plug it back in. Pinch the line when you take it off. If it doesn't move it needs to be replaced. Hope this helps.

Underneath the throttle body , it's serviced by removing the TBI Unit and flipping it over , your fuel pressure should be between 12-15 psi with a proper working regulator.

You block it off before the valve on the metal pipe that runs to the EGR valve. The problem is that when you go to get it smogged you have to replace the EGR or it will not pass smog

is the check engine light on ? if it idling high chances are you have a vacuum leak take a can of carb cleaner and spray the egr valve and if the engine rpm changes replace egr valve the throttle body may also be plugged pull the vacuum line off the map sensor start vehicle and see if you have vacuum if not remove throttl body and clean vacuum passage hope this helps
