Question about 2004 Dodge Neon
I have a 2004 dodge neon, automatic.. most of the time car has a hard time starting and jus keeps cranking.. but sometimes it starts fine.. engine lights turns off and on when it pleases.. sometimes to get the car started after it's been cranking, i pump the brakes about 7times and it starts.. recently(twice), after i got the car started and drove a few yards it loses power (doesn't turn off), so i have to throw the car in park and gun the engine a little, and it works fine after that.. did the on,off,on,off,on thing and got a "51".. hear the fuel pump goin when i turn the car on.. hardly ever misses gear but it did a few (no more than 5times) times.. was told it was the fuel pump relay fuse.. jus wanted more opinions.. Thank You
Well it could be the pump itself going bad or a short in the wiring, possible clogged fuel filter. There is a valve what looks like a tier valve cap on the fuel rail if you can get you hands on a pressure gauge and hook it up, you should see the pressure increase and decrease, if it does not start looking elsewhere.
