if you can turn it over with a screwdriver they is a butten under the switch you have to use a pocket one to push it in but you have to be able to turn the switch at the same time till u feel the butten go up in the switch

Well first off all. insurance should cover all damages. and second a screw driver would not work. first drill out the lock then you can use a screw driver. if u want it fixed just simple get a new switch it will cost you no more then twenty dollars at the dealership

'94 GMC truck ignition stuck

Hi Jane, Your problem may be being caused by the bent key, but you may need to replace the ignition barrel and switch as it too may be defective. The barrel takes the key and at the working end (opposite side to where the key fits) is a rod which fits into the switch which turns the ignition on and off and operates the starter. I'm suspecting that it is either loose (the attachment screw may have become loose) worn or broken. Regards John

I have towed several of these with same problem. Sounds like to me it needs to go back in for the ignition switch again. Unless it's not going into park. If it's not going into park it would be a shift linkage issue and needs to be adjusted. Chris J.C. Towing & Recovery

I had this same problem, your ignition tumbler is probably broken,Its been a long time since i owned it though. But if I remember correctly you need to look directly under the Tumbler in the plastic cover, you should see a hole about the diameter of a phillips screwdriver. There is a retainer pin in there, you will need to depress it with a small phillips screwdriver or a small punch. while you have pressure against the pin,you should be able to pull the tumbler out. new one will come with keys.good luck! My 1997 audi a4 the ignition key is stuck. what

OK first thing- Car has to be in park to pull the key from the ingnition. if it is and you still cant pull it, rock the wheel back and forth alittle (sometimes the columb lock doesnt lock properly and you cant release the key until it locks, rocking the wheel usually fixes this problem). and the last possibility is that the tumblers in your ignition have broken, when this happens you cant pull the key from the ignition because you cant turn the key back to the off possition all the way. when this happens you don't want to pull the key because you risk not being able to put it back in the ignition later and are forced to replace the ignition so you can drive your car. However if the tumblers are indeed broken you will have to replace the ignition anyway, atleast by leaving the key in it you can still drive the car until its replaced
