Has this symptom occured several times or just a one off? If the trans works OK I wouldn't mess with it.You know what they say about sleeping dogs! I think Mitsis are not that strong in the auto trans department

Rear passenger axle needs replaced

A Sunfire is front wheel drive, so there should not be a rear axle.
There is a rear strut, the hub and bearing is bolted to the trailing arm and strut. The tire and wheel bolt to the hub.
I would get two estimates for repairs before making a decision. It could have under-body damage too.

The rear passenger side makes a loud banging noise when i drive over a bump or rough roadway. the noise does not occur on the other side. sounds almost hollow in the quarterpanel area.

Check to see if your strut spring is loose. If there is a lot of rust in the area, check to see that none of the spot welds came free and he strut came loose. It may be a rear shock on that car and not a strut, Either way. Check to make sure nothing is missing a bolt or moves when pushed or pulled. You don't want to find out by losing control on the expressway.

My Mitsubishi Diamante rear Speaker is blown.

You need a "right angle screwdriver" or "skewdriver".

Right angle screwdrivers are kind of like tiny ratchets with screwdriver bits.

Skewdrivers are 45 degree angled screwdrivers that rotate when you twist the handle.

I prefer the craftsman right angle screwdriver, as it ratchets easily and applies more torque than a skewdriver.

I need to replace the rear struts and spings on my 01 sable, Where are the top nuts to loosen for the struts

The bolts are located under the rear deck (where the rear speakers are located) inside the car. First start by opening the fold down rear seats. There you will find 4 bolts holding the rear seat back. Remove them. Pull the seat back forward and lay it down on the rear seat. Next remove the rear deck. There are 2 plastic push-in clips that hold the rear deck. They located toward the front. Pull them out. Now the rear deck can be removed by sliding forward towards the front of the car. Under the rear deck is insulation which can be lifted out. Under the insulation are the bolts for each strut. Remove these bolts and the strut can be pulled out.

Changeing struts

You would need to go to your local Auto Parts Store and buy a set of strut compressors for doing struts, BUT YOU HAVE TO BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL WHEN DOING STRUTS!!!!! There pretty easy to do , But Very dangerous, First of all you have to take and lift car up so its easier to work on Make sure its on a good even surface and the jack stands are in good strong working condition. Now you can take off your tires. remove the two bolts that go thru the bottom of the strut now remember thats also your camber so try to mark the old strut. after you remove the two bolts that are holding the bottom of the strut, and then the brake line needs to be removed from the strut tower, Now the strut should be loosened on bottom and nothing else should be on bottom holding strut, Open hood on car and now make sure you look and see what way the strut is in up top. you can mark the spring so when go to put it back in you know witch way it goes back in. Now you will notice five bolts in the top of your strut under the hood holding the unit in the top, remove all five bolts and then remove strut from car, Do the same on other side but you may want to leave one on the car for a referance and use it remember always use a referance, now hope you have access to a vice,. and compress the spring being CAREFUL once spring is compressed you have to take off top bolt in middle of spring on top, now you have to loosen strut adjuster being very careful and remove spring from strut and always look at what way it is on spring so you can put it back the way it was and do everything in reverse order to reinstall it. If you don't feel confident to do it Don't it can be very dangerous so have a go to a good mechanic, If you need any or have any ?s get back to me
