When you press the button do you hear any noise coming from the sunroof? If not and you say you check the fuses then more the likely the motor burned out and you will have to replace it. But if you hear noise coming from the sunroof it may be that the sunroof came off track or is simply jammed for some reason.

I have a 1988 GMC with electric windows ,from time to time one or the other of the windows rolls down or simply won't work at all, thought it was motors, but it turned out to be the switches i stood and worked them up and down for a while finally almost by accident they began to work again, and continued for quite a while.
Then messed up again, i did the same thing so far they are still working.(untill the next time) yes i need to replace them.
there might be a small chance that your switch is the problem.
Hope this is helpfull !

My sunroof is stuck open and cannot be pulled closed. Switch went wonky some time ago, but could operate sunroof by using switch in different combinations (forward until four inches from closed, then tilt...

have you checked the fuse. if the cigaret lighter is working.. ? if not check if not check the fuse. if blown and still not work check this pull out the yellow fuse holder in the under hood fuse box (it holds two fuses and takes some effort to pull out), and verify those two fuses are ok. if you have trouble removing the fuse try this, at the bottom of the yellow box is a tiny little leg that keeps it from pulling out all the way. Just grab it firmly and pull up, give it a rocking motion back and forth and it will bend and pull past that leg. try them if you still have a problem come back and will see what else it could be.

Sun roof stuck fuse ok what else can i check how do you manualy open and close sunroof

In most cars you cant manually open and close electric sunroofs.
Likely the problem is in one of the switches. little bit of water can make a mess of switches

My sunroof is stuck open on my 1999 jeep grand cherokee laredo? Would it be a fuse? If so, how do you change it?

Definitely, you'll have to take a look to see if any obstruction is visible. To check the fuses first you'll need to find them. The fuse block cover should illustrate what each fuse is for. You can visibly check the fuses, with a flashlight. Just take a look at the sunroof fuse and check that its not burned. That the metal inside goes from one side to the other and its not burned or broken. You can use a test light or a multimeter, a test-light will do. I usually check them visibly, its obvious when you have a blown fuse just by looking at it. Its better just to pull out the suspected fuse to check it.
