Had the same trouble once on my 05.Discovered the rack and pinion seals were leaking. I wound up replacing the R&P with a remanufactured one, cost about $230. A new one from Dodge would have run me over $600.Hope this narrows your search. Also, mine had 23K on it when it happened.

2006 Dodge 1500 5.7 hemi-Changed the power steering pump. 1,500 miles later the steering is very hard at low speeds. Is there air in the system, bad pump, or maybe rac & pin issue?

Indicates the pump not producing enough,in park rev the engine to say 1200 rpm and see if it acts the same as 20mph turn steering at same time.

I have a 2004 Dodge ram with a HEMI motor. My power steering is extremely stiff ONLy when engine isv in idle and warm. What could be the cause of this?

your pump has low pressure meaning the seals are going so youl need a new one or the hydrolic pipes the wrong way round causing low pressure when idle

P/S 2004 Ram

Without having a picture I couldn't tell you if that's the return line. Actually I would need a book on it. What I would suggest is trying to tighten it just a little. Don't overdo it cause that is easy to do. You can also loosen it and throw some thread tape on it and tighten it back up to see if that works. Good luck!

How do i change the power steering pressure switch on my 04 dodge ram 1500 hemi? I can't find it.

From the Factory Service Manual, you can get one relatively cheap from www.promanuals.net. Here is a link to your 2004 Dodge Ram Service Manual.

The power steering pressure switch is installed in
the power steering high-pressure hose (Fig. 9).

(1) Disconnect electrical connector from power
steering pressure switch.
(2) Place a small container or shop towel beneath
switch to collect any excess fluid.
(3) Remove switch. Use back-up wrench on power
steering line to prevent line bending.

Electronic Throttle Control

I had same problem on mine. The wire harness under the throttle body cover rubbed and was cut in two. If you remove the cover and unplug the etc you can feed the harness under the plug wires to inspect them.very common problem on this vehicle.

Blinker showing up on right side when left side is signaled to come on on my 2004 Dodge Ram Hemi

either the multifunction switch is bad or the wiring harness for the blinker is worn threw in the steering column, take it to a shop before you burn up the wirng harness, even if it's fuesd it can still melt thewires and cost a ton of money to fix.

Problem with starting my 2003 dodge ram

My father has the same problem with his 2001 Chrysler Sebring, the key will go into the ignition switch but wont turn. Called the dealer and seems the tumblers inside the ignition have gotten stuck, the solution... put the key in the ignition and tap it gently with a hammer (plastic tip if you have it) and it worked fine. Not sure what the guys at Autozone are pull but on a Ram 5.7 Hemi there are individual coils, not one, I should know I also have a 2003 Ram 1500 and have changed the plugs (not fun)... I have a code scanner (Hypertec) and when I've gotten a check engine light I check it with the scanner. Turned out mine had a problem with the air sensor in the intake. $15 part fixed the problems. Good Luck.

No heat

No heat can mean low coolant in the radiator. Check that. Also would mean you have a coolant leak. Might possibly be a restricted heater core. Possibly a blend door in the dash that quit working. Thermostat could be faulty allowing coolant to flow continuously.

Fluid Leaks in Hemi 5.7L Vehicles

If your car steering is groaning chances are you need the power steering pump repaced. Open the hood and look for fresh moisture and you can usualy trace it back to the leak.
Or take a large piece of card board and park the front of your car on it, trace around the front wheels and let it set unitl enough fluid is gatthered to identify color and texture, then take your car along with the cardboard to a service station you trust
