2006 f350 XL SPEEDOMETER

ESPECIALLY WHEN ITS COLD THE SPEEDOMETER DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. I DRIVE DOWN THE ROAD A FEW MILES AND NOTICE IT WORKS FINE AGAIN. THIS ONLY SEEMS TO HAPPEN IN THE WINTER MONTHS WHEN IT GETS DOWN TO 30 DEGREES AND BELOW.

Is it still under warranty? Is the speedo the only thing that goes out or are there any other lights that stop working as well?

If your abs light is on and your speedo is acting up!! the speed sensor or pig tall on top of the rear end is often the problem.

There is a Technical Service Bulletin Out for this concern no. 07-11-2. Here are the symptoms.

A known issue exists on the instrument cluster where it is possible for the graphics applique to separate from the cluster backplate and interfere with pointer operation. The suspect vehicle build months are July, 2005 to January, 2006. Although not impossible, vehicles built outside of this time period will likely not have this issue. The most common symptom is the speedometer pointer sticking while operating in cool or cold weather and the vehicle interior is beginning to warm up after a cold start. Revised instrument clusters are now available for service that includes a fix for this concern.

I am no Honda expert, but a similar problem happened to my ex sister in-laws Ford Taurus. The speed odometer would jump around and it had trouble shifting (automatic transmission). After driving it I changed out the speed odometer sensor on the transmission and it's been fine ever since. I changed out the sensor because if the cars computer cannot tell how fast the car is traveling then fail safes in place go into effect and the computer will do it's best to keep the cars rpm's down based on the speed indicator and not let it shift or shift properly either. If it's getting false speeds then it will shut down the motor when the speed gets to high and allow it to run as the speeds fall (jumping speed odometer needle). It effects the transmission shift points also. It will either shift erratically or not shift out of say 2nd gear, so that the cars engine can't get damaged based on what signal the speed sensor is sending the computer.

I have recently purchased a 2006 monte Carlo with 55000 miles on it and noticed today that when the car is idling it only blows cold air out of the heater. While I'm driving it works fine. Does anyone...

Most likely low coolant/antifreeze. Check the fluid level and make sure it's full. If it's full, it may be the water pump not functioning properly

2006 Buick Lacrosse with 63,000 miles. Whining noise expecially when first driving car. Especially when turning corners but also on the straight. Usually gets better when driven 5 miles or so.

Its probably the power steerinng pump. they do this sometimes when they are cold. has to work a little harder. this is normal. you might check the fliud just to make sure it is full.

Chevy cavalier 2005 speedometer stuck not working

This is most likely not a speed sensor problem, I see this a lot on 03-05 Cavalier instrument clusters and it's always the same. It's caused by failing stepper motors on the cluster's circuit board and it can be fixed. Check out this page for more about how to get it fixed - cavalier speedometer fix

F350 2000 stalling and sputtering while driving after running a while or runs fine

Many possibilities:
Is it a Diesel?
Camshaft position sensor recall may cover it.
Gas or Diesel:
Fuel Pump and/or relay.
Fuel Filter.

Engine codes could help if Check Engine Light is on.
