Question about 2000 Jeep Cherokee
2000 Jeep Cherokee will crank, but will not start unless I press the gas. Also it will not idle at first. I have to hold the gas down for a few minutes and after a while it will idle on its own. Also, once it is idling on its own. I can kill it out and it will start like normal (without having to press the gas).
Also, a few times it has acted like the battery is drained (i.e. the electric locks will make noise but be too weak to unlock, the lights will be dim, and it will barely crank when i turn the key). Once I start it by pressing the gas, it will act as I described above. I bought from a friend and he said a year or so ago. He had the same problem and he tightened the batter cables and it corrected the problem. I cleaned the battery connectors and tightened everything, but this has not helped.
