Question about 2002 Hyundai Accent
I have a 02 Hyundai Accent , and the cigarette lighter wont work. I dont think its a fuse, as i went through all of them, under the dash and in the engine compartment, and they were all fine. Any clue as to what the problem could be? Also, if i need to replace it... how do i even get it out? I've taken the cup holder and plastic molding from around the shifter off, but the outlet is surrounded by plastic from the whole dash. Would i have to take everything apart? Thank you.
They hyundai service manual says the following.
(1) After removing the ashtray remove the facia panel mounting screws
(2) Then disconnect the connector from cigarette lighter
(3) Disconnect thermal fuse case from socket end
(4) Remove the ring nut and separate cigarette lighter socket from the thermal protector.
I hope this helps. I have never had to replace one (yet) so I can't give exact directions. Even if the fuse looks good you may want to replace it and see if that fixes it first. Sometimes they have miniscule hairline cracks that are hard to see. Hope this helps
