I would check the fluid in the transmission and the drive axles and to also make sure you do not have the parking brakes on and you do not have a calipers hanging up on one of the wheels

Hi Sheila, i'm glad to help. 99 Durango's with thew 5.2 liter engine were good about the Crank Sensors going bad. Now, as I can't say that securily with out diagnosis. If it were my vehicle and knowing what I know about no starts, that is diffinently where I would start. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Sheila.

My 99 durango will start up but u have to give it gas to stay running same when pulling down in gear

Change the gas filter. If car sat for 2 years without being started, the gas could be stale Put fuel system cleaner in gas tank. The car may need a double dose.

My 99 Durango won't start.

If you don't know for sure, you will need to figure out if it is a no spark or a no fuel pressure issue to proceed.
If it is a no spark problem, check the ASD relay and the coil for voltage and ground signal.

My 99 durango is acting like a go cart when you push on the gas (its sputtering bad) even when it idols. its fine when its coasting, what could it be?

Might have some water in the engine...or in the fuel line. Should try using premium gas for now on. See if it's that. My 2002 Cadillac always ran better with super than regular. Had somewhat of the same problem. Cheap gas does that sometimes.

99 dodge durango 5.9 with a 46re trany goes in

These transmissions are known for having problems unfortunately. If it drives in first gear thei it sounds like a broke spring in the valve body. If you are not familiar with trans repair this can be a task as there are lots of parts in the valve body. Also could be a bad solenoid on the valve body they have fine screens and get clogged real easy. On these transmissions it is best to change fluid as often as possible as they are tempermental!

Hope this gets you moving forward!

I have a 99 Durango 318 it acts like its not

U may have a defective fuel pressure check valve in the electric fuel pump, u have the classic symptoms, to check this buy a fuel pressure test guage for your truck, about $40, the test port for fuel pressure is on the top of th engine in the fuel rail that supplies fuel to the injectors, hook up the guage to the test port and run the engine, make sure u have no fuel leaks at the hook up, then shut down the engine, the fuel pressure should not drop more than 5 PSI, if it does the check valve is defective and you need a new fuel pump
