Question about 1990 Mazda 626
How do i replace the alternater
Start by disconnecting the battery, remove the belt on the alternator, you will probably have to loosen or remove the bolts holding it on to the bracket, it makes it easier to get the belt off, pay attention to how you remove it, then get it tested, if its bad get a new one and install.

SOURCE: 1995 Mazda 626 Alternater light
This is quite easy. Have the battery tested to be sure it is still in good working order. Replace your alternator. While they are testing the battery (in the car), have them test the charging system just to verify and give you piece of mind that what I'm saying is true. Let me know if you need anything else.
