When I replaced the stereo receiver in my car I accidentally pulled some play out of the tension wire on my 02 lancer. I traced the wire from the control to a point where I could give it a good push. I then shoved it forward as hard as I could. It now blows hot air. When I accidentially pulled extra slack out of the line it wouldn't wasn't actually tightening the line enough to make it blow hot air.

SOURCE: no heat
Make sure the heater tap is working .Check that you have water flow through the heater radiator core. You could remove the heater hoses and use a garden hose to see if water will circulate through the heater. It should flow evenly. If that isnt the problem you will have to check that water is flowing through the engine.Put the garden hose up one of the removed hoses and see if water flows out the other hose.once again a good consistant flow is required .Let me know how it works out.

SOURCE: Heating system do not work.
I have the exact same problem. Started occasionally blowing cold air. Now I can't get the hot air to come through. Could it be a flapper door that open and closes depending on the tempurature setting?
