Question about 2005 Volkswagen New Beetle Convertible
I have a 2005 VW Bug Convertible. I understand that the top CAN
be adjusted "tightened" so that it does not rattle. Does anyone
know how to make this kind of adjustment? There is not a VW
dealer in my area.
I took my 05 Beetle convertible to the dealer several times for this same problem. They simply put some sticky backed felt strips along the outer edges on each side where the car frame along the top of the windshield meets the converitible top when closed (just above the visors). Hope this helps.

The adjustments can be a bit tricky but there are a couple of things you can try.....lube all the seals around the soft top and between the windows ,a light smear of vaseline can get rid of some creaks and groans.also there are 2 metal pegs where the roof locates on to top of the screen if you can find some pipe that will slide over them cut it to about 5-10mm so most of the peg is still exposed, and slide it on this tensions the roof a little and can work wonders.hope this helps.
