Car stalls while I'm driving it... even on the highway
I will be driving 60 mph and the car will just stall on me. It's pretty scary. I can usually get it started again, but this is a nightmare. we bought the car from an auction and it has had a check engine light on since the 3rd day we got it. now it has a maintenance required and I just had an oil change. I also get the lights on the dash board dimming and brightening... please help

Can you be more specific does it happen only on the highway what is the speed is it when accelerating does it happen on other roads, does it start right up after stalling as it seems unlikely that it would just be the highway in order to even try and figure it out more information is required
I think you mean the engine stalls or cuts out at Idle/30/60 mph.
More info wanted,as first is it a Man/or Auto ,what engine have you got 6 or v8??? When last servised by who,How many miles on the clock, dose it smoke when driving or starting ,are the revs ok on idle ,,about what temp dose it run at the 30/60 mph etc etc???
PLEASE send all info, ..
I've seen this problem before in other cars. Your electric fuel pump is cavitating and instead of putting just fuel into your fuel line it is putting in an air fuel mix. It will only get worse. To be sure check your fuel line pressure. I'm sure you will find it low. If it is replace the fuel pump.
