Same thing here but mine doesn't completely stop but some times sputs and **** only sometimes though. would the fix be as easey or the same for a 2000 GT (v6)? All my repairs seem to be costing much more than a 4c cuz u have to remove 1/2 the motor to get to things such as the spark plugs. Every one I come across says that the way our motor is put in there is odd and makes it hard to fix normally easey things.

What you have is PROBABLY a bad Idle Air Control stepper motor... if the car stays running with your foot on the gas, and only dies when you let your foot OFF the gas... or if it dies when you shift (again, cause you foot is off the gas) that is definitely the problem. The stepper motors are kind of pricey (over $300) at the dealership, but you should be able to get one from an auto parts store for 150 or so. easy as heck to replace, it has three 8MM bolts into the throttle body, just unplug it, unscrew the bolts, and put the new one in... just be sure to be careful with the new o-ring... DON'T LOSE IT! :)

Good luck!

the battery wont stay charged? if youre putting in a fully charged battery and your car runs, but then the battery slowly dies, the problem will be your alternator. the alternator is what maintains a car batteries charge. try replacing the alternator. hope this helps.

2000 eclipse gt getting a po1400 code and car does not idle right all the time and sometimes it dies. Mechanic said it was ecm, any ideas

PO1400 is not a common code. PO140 however is. PO140 is a oxygen sensor problem, it refers to bank 1 sensor 2 having no activity. This could cause your eclipse to not hold a good idle and possibly to stall. I would have a different mechanic check the car before you spend quite a bit of cash on an ECM as they can cost upwards of 800 dollars

Stalls when at idle after changing battery

When you changed the battery the computer must re-learn the setting again. If it continues have a OBD II reader plugged in and check for codes.

My car does not stay running for more than two minutes after battery charges for an entire day.Can this be electrical?

if it sputters and dies, you may have a fuel supply issue. if the battery dies every time, you have an alternator problem. as soon as it turns over, the car's electrical should run off of the alternator. you could disconnect the battery and it'll still run. if it doesn't, replace the alternator. but make sure the battery is fully charged before you do, otherwise you'll ruin the new alternator (alternator death). it would probably be best to replace the battery, too.
