2001 Explorer Sport ,Rear Driver Brake Light and Turn Sig. Broke

Both RR breaklight and turn signal not working. Rear lights work so not bulb. Think I checked all of the fuses. Owners manual does not have specific listing for brake light fuse or turn signal fuse. Could it be a switch somewhere or loose wire?

That is interesting to know that they are double filament- i did not think of that. But I read another posting with the same problem and it turned out to be that if he raised the steering wheel it worked. So I tried that and its working ! Perhaps having the steering wheel so low pinches something when turning on the left turn signal.

Rear lights are double filament bulbs one side for the lights other side for the brake/turn signals so it still may be a bulb. Do u have a test light or volt meter you can check to make sure u have power there when brakes or turn signals are activated. Or just try another bulb.

Left rear light won't work using turn or brake, running light good

You can purchase a haynes or chiltons guide those will have that information and more. Have you replaced all of the bulbs within that light? sometimes one bad light can make them all not work right.
Thanks,
Lee

I have a 2003 2 door explorer sport, just recently my turning signal and break light have stopped working on the passenger side!! I changed the light bulb, and nothing!! I changed the turning signal light...

No, because the left side is still working. The loose wiring was to the multifunction switch (turn signal).

Power gores through the turn signal switch to the brake switch on the brake pedal, then to the rear lights. Does the highmount brake lamp work?
At the RH lamp socket, Measure the voltage between the RH rear lamp C4032 pin 3, circuit 5 (OG/LB), harness side and ground. Should be 12 volts.

try that first.

Did you change the front and rear bulbs?

Check the bulbs if the bulbs are good suspect the panel that the bulbs go into. Which are also called the sockets you may have to replace the sockets this is not an uncommon problem.

2003 Ford Explorer Sport rear turn signal acting up

if it's only the rear turn signal that does this, check the plug where the bulb snaps in. if loose or bad connection to bulb, it will sometimes work and sometimes not. if its both the front and rear turn signal bulbs, could be the combination switch. these were common failures on fords

The ford explorer sport track. Will have a short either at the plug of the multi-function switch or 6 inches down where the column bends the wires during tilt.

Rt rear turn & brake lights inop

Due to poor design on Fords part. When you use the tilt often, the wires inside due not have enough relief. They are to tight. My 02 sport track had same problem. Wire actually broke off inside the steering column. Take off the lower then upper plastic around column. You probably have broken or loose wires
