No its not a fuse the anti theft built in the radio has locked you out and the only way to get it to work again is pull it out and copy all the numbers that are on it call your local dealer for that vehicle ask for parts department tell them you replaced the battery and need the unlock code for the stereo. also it will help you if you tell them u work for a mechanic shop just give them the name of one they dont question anything. and they'll give you the code

Starting problem (see details), on 1998 Town & Country.

Check your battery cables and starter cables especially the connectors and bolts under the hood. The bolts and connections could be loose or corroded. Check the connections near the battery and on the battery since many times mechanics mess with these the most. My guess is something is loose if it starts well most times, but fails occasionally. Did you look for blinky codes or DTCs? A '47' (or P0562) could mean a bad battery or alternator, and a '12' (or P1684) could indicate intermittent connections. Do the dome lights dim or stay well lit when the clicking is heard during cranking? If so, then the issue is most likely near the battery and if not then the issue is more likely near the starter. Good luck. There are a lot of wires under the hood.

What is wrong when you turn the key to start and the radio and all the instruments turn on but the starter doesn't click and the engine doesn't turn on even after trying to jump start it

Dead battery

Dangerous practice to try & jump a dead battery

The battery cables could be loose at either end or corroded internally

Most likely the battery is worn out, if original to car
since it was new, or the starter solenoid is worn

You do not want to jump any vehicle made after the
year 2000 or your asking for possible problems with
todays electronics.

You need a good battery that has been tested & fully
charged, then only jump with a jump pack, not another car

I have a 2004 Nissan Quest. First, the speakers started popping off, then radio wouldn't work anymore. We pulled the fuse under the hood and reinserted it. When it sparks radio will come back on....

if you are having radio issues where you have to mess with the fuse to make it work i would say it is the culprit for the battery draw, a lot of radios trigger the eject when power is reconnected for the memory wire, that is not a problem with the radio.
try unplugging the radio and see if that fixes the battery draw.

Recently replaced battery in 2005 Freestar due to bad cell. Symptoms were: after shutting off van then later try to restart, starter tried to engage then clicking dials and gauges went haywire, dancing...

Thats what it sounds like! Either alternator is weak or the regulator is going bad (inside alt)
At least the batt was 6 years old, and needed replacing anyway. Avoid draining the new batt flat as this can significantly shorten overall batt life.

Look here for replacement alts ranging from under 100 to almost 400..

Or call around to different local auto parts stores. Prices vary widely. (Quality too)

My 2000 Ford Windstar is having some electrical issues. I was driving it home and the AC stopped working the radio went dead the odometer went dead my turn signals did not work and I could not roll down...

Check your alternator. My van did something similar. I was driving down the road and all of the sudden my windows, a/c, radio, door locks, speedometer, everything electrical went down. We stopped and tried to crank it and it wouldn't. Then finally it cranked up went another mile before the fuel pump quit working too. It was the alternator. I had to have someone come jump me off and follow me to the parts store and then home for it to be fixed.

Van won't start- dead to the turn-....battery good, lights work, however, radio does not come on or the wiper blades and windows. Also, can't shift gear when key is in and turned?

In some cases if the battery goes dead and the battery is charged the bcm needs to be reset, you can tell this is the case if when the door is opened and the odometer does not come on. simply disconnect the neg (-) battery terminal, leave discconected for at least 1 min open door during this time to drain any memory stored in any electronics, reconnect battery and you should be good to go

Mini van wont start

Sounds like starter selanoid, but first make sure battery connections are clean and tight, if sure they are then turn on headlights and try to start if still clicks and lights dim its starter.

Silhouette will not start, but battery put out 12+ volts

You better have the alterntor checked, you said the battery was putting out 12v. was that with the car running or off? If it was running, it should have pushing between 14 and 15 volts, if it wasn't with it running, replace alternator.
