Re: Rear window defroster
You need to make sure the wires are on the glass on each side and there is no broken wires in the glass there is a repair kit at a auto store to fix if you have a volt meter test it and that way you can find the problem look for breaks in the wire in the glass and do not for get the wires on each side of the glass.

There are 2 Plugs that go into the REAR Defrost. If one of them is off, then it will not work. If you broke the Electrical Track, then it needs to be repaired... They sell kits to do this at your local Automotive Repair Stores... Time consuming but easy to do.
Check the fuse it should be labeled in the fuse panel as rear def. If its blown replace it and if that doesnt fix it or if the fuse blows again then u have an electrical problem and will need to have a technician look at it.
blinkers sounds like the flasher unit is not working. It's located under dash. Also check for burnt out bulbs.
Rear defrost, or rear defogger?: Your defogger for the rear window would run off a relay, probably located in the fuse panel of your car. Often, the connections at the rear window get broke or disconnected.
Front defrost: does your heater blower work?
is it a possibility the heating element on the window has an open break somewhere? the only way to find out actually is to have it tested in the shop.. if there is a relay it is under the hood and in a main covered fuse box. possibly, so to say...
check the actual connection at the rear window take it out and clean then/ check for power to that end/ if there is power then its the connection if there is no power going to the unit its the switch/ replaceing it shouldnt be to bad it should just pop out check where the clips are they are push in clips get a small flat screw driver/ please rate my response thank you very much
