Is it possible to remove and replace front wheel bearings with out a press

In order to remove the front wheel bearings without press hub off the bearing and then the bearing out of the knuckle. To do the first step need a a Support Bridge. It is a special tool. Make bridge and use a general bearing pulled kit to replace bearings. use a "Front Wheel Drive Bearing Removal Adapters Puller Pulley Tool Set Kit" .To replace the bearing, remove front CV shaft taking care not to move the CV shaft too far out .

How do I replace a front wheel bearing?

front wheel bearing is pressed into hub and has retaining clip on rear and then cv axle shaft comes through center and has a nut and keeper pin. Rule of thumb is to replace both front wheel bearings at same time. raise front of vehicle place on jackstands for safety remove front wheels remove brake calipers remove front rotors and cv axles remove steering hub assy from lower ball joint, tie rod end and struts take hub to shop and have bearing pressed out have new bearings pressed in reassemble front wheels in reverse order of disassembly.

start by jacking up car end of cv will have a cotter pin remove it, you'll need a 35 mm or 1 1/2 sae socket to remove retaining nut , after that ues a hard block of wood and strike that with hammer ( NEVRE STRIKE CV END WITH ANYTHIN METAL OR VERY HARD),at this point cv should be loose ,seperate cv from bearing hub you may also have to remove tie rod end to swing it out.ok thats it in a nut shell good luck hope it helps you.

Why would my steering wheel vibrate back and fourth

Obviously you have several things can cause this:
1) Bent Wheel,
2) Loose or Missing Lug Nuts,
3) Lost Balance Weight(s),
4) Wheels Badly Out of Balance,
5) Bad Front Wheel Bearings.
6) CV Joints badly worn.
Basically, anything to do with proper balance of the front wheels can cause this. Usually this condition exists somewhere around 45 MPH +/- about 5 MPH. Have a reliable ASE Technician check it out as soon as possible. If a wheel were to come off at any speed it could be instant disaster!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Being a front wheel drive car, the CV Joints could be worn out. You don't give the Miles on your vehicle. Typically CV Joints and Hub Kits (Wheel Bearings) do wear out. If you have in excess of 100,000 miles replace what needs it. Get an estimate First and consider if is worth fixing as a 1999 Breeze may not be worth the investment of the required repairs.

2007 ford escape popping noise in front end when turning & braking, can be felt in brake pedal

You may want to raise the front wheels and check for loose wheel bearings by rocking the tire-excess rock the wheel bearing needs replaced. Also check the tie-rod ends-they should be stiff not easily moved. If they move easily replace the bad one. Also check the boots-two on each-on the CV joints-if they are torn or seeping grease you may want to have them checked.

It sounds like the CV joint, no they are not supposed to be loose, free to move but not loose like you describe, sort the CV then look at the wheel bearing as I imagine all the noises will disguise others

ck the CV boot. if its broken you need a new cv axle, if its ok, jack up the car so both wheels are off the ground. either put the car in drive or just manually spin each front wheel while gripping the coil spring for the front strut. if you feel any (roughness) at all, that wheel bearing is bad. it should be smooth. if you have a bad one you will know it by this method. Even good mechanics sometimes replace the wrong bearing, but this 100% works every time.

you have to replace bearing and hub as a unit.you have to remove remove brakes and caliper rotor set them aside dont disconnect brake line. get a piece of clothes rack wire to hold brake caliper .do not let it hang by brake hose. you got to remove hub nut. best way to do that is loosen it a litttle while tire still on weight of car keep wheel from turning .
