I was driving down the road and my car lost power. i thought it might be gas and put about 2 gallons in it. cranks but still no start. i then checked all fuses under the hood and dash and they were all fine. then i took out a spark plug and tried to turn it over, i got no spark. what could the problem be?

Re: my 1993 civic has no spark...
Whenever I have worked on old Hondas with no spark, they have always gotten a salvege yard distributer ....they were well known for going bad inside, whether its a coil or ignition module or whatever inside distributer, the easiest fix is to replace whole thing...good luck...lee

if its been of the road this long all the **** will be at the bottom of the tank 2 gallons is not much realy is there a hose you can take off and try sucking the fuel through may be a blokage in the feeder pipe is the motor running when you turn the car over should still run when cranking plus you can see if the motor runns by taking it off and putting it direct to battery to see if it runs make sure there is mo fuel in the pump before putting it direct to battery for obvious resons
My friend "cranks" is the same thing as "turn over" ... does it crank or not? You say it has a strong crank ...
You might be flooded, more likely you have ignition troubles. Do you have spark? You test this by pulling a spark plug wire and putting another spark plug on the wire, with the plug grounded, observe to see if you have spark. If you have fuel, in the tank, there is that possibility you have a fuel pump fault. Naturally aspirated or fuel injection? If you have a carb, look down the throat to see if there is gas when you press on the gas petal.
I think you are going to have to have this repaired by your mechanic.
Could be Lots of things Causeing that Frist Could be a Cracked Spark plug and Be your Timing out on it also could be Vacume Leack EGR stuck open or Closed Bad Wires Emissions Control System not workin Right
