1994 Grand am starter Wired wrong

I need a wiring diagram for the starter. I dont have a ground wire hooked up, and I might have it hooked up wrong. Ive looked on Autozone for the starter wiring they show but it doesnt help much.


Any help would be appreciated.

    Then would there be a reason that my cars not getting power? Battery has a good charge Its refurbrished from autozone. I took it in and had them test the charge. No dinging from opening the door or lights turning on. I took the A/C compressor outta the car and put in a by-pass pulley. Would the Wires not being connected to the A/C compressor cause the problem?

All there is to it is 1 Power Cable &Accesories to 1 Big terminal And the small One to S terminal. There Is NO Ground "WIRE" to Starter It Is Grounded BY Being MOUNTED TO ENGINE

    Don't know about 1994 but my 1997 2.4L has a ground wire. Does anyone know where the large red wire connected to the larger terminal is supposed to go?

Starter wiring diagram
On low reduction starter there are only 2 wires on standard starter there only 3. One is your hot wire red color coded black is ground and white the ignition switch. If there is more that it probably add on connection for accessories usually goes to hot wire to supply power.

I need a starter switch wiring diagram..
It's probably your starter solenoid that is stuck on. Older fords had this solenoid or relay located on the passenger fender apron, but I think on your '95 model, it is located on the starter motor itself.

There are copper contact points or buttons inside the solenoid. Yours must have stuck together. Pretty simple fix: pull the starter off and change the solenoid.

there are fuses for each light, high and lo beam. the grounds are grounded at all times, I dont know what you mean by open seeking. its wired like every other car. Right low beam is fuse 21 Red/White wire should be hot if fuse is good. I dont know what you mean by hooking low beam connector to battery? check fuses.

The smaller wires that hook to the big post on the solenoid. These are fusable link wires. It sounds like one is burnt or not hooked up. These feed all the power to the car. Did you hook the grounds to the top of the starter bolt?

Battery arcs
you could have put in a shorted starter, or

you could have put the big wire to the ground bolt instead of the bolt at the starter solenoid.
